I've been having a problem with my sedan ever since I put it together. It's an m20b25 with an early model cooling system. No matter what I do the water pump starts leaking after a few weeks. I've put in two brand new pumps since I've owned the car and 3 gaskets. I've tried with and without rtv and it still leaks. It's not the pumps going bad it's leaking where it mates to the block. Is there a reason you can't run an early system on a late motor? I didn't do any research when I put this car together I did it on a tight budget on a weekend using what I had after wrecking my daily.

On a side note who's got an exhaust and skid plate for a 24v I'm just gonna start driving the coupe as a daily.

Shouldn't be any issue. My block is from a 91, running the early style cooling setup and using an e28 radiator. No leaks on the water pump.

Not that I can see, I was thinking maybe it was warped but it seems like it would be awfully hard to warp it right there.

I was kind of hoping maybe the early system couldn't handle the higher revs or something but that didn't really seem right. I'll probably just put my m50nv in this car and pick up an m52 for the coupe I'm sick of chasing this issue.

M20's are cake I'm just not exactly motivated to pull it back out and go through everything. I figured getting a 40k mile motor and slapping on a tb/wp would be fine but I guess I was wrong
