Yea it is loose, I can push it all the way counterclockwise but the belt is a tiny bit too short

I don't know what's up with the timing belt then. I though the tensioner ha to be all the way loose. But I have never done one on an E30.
On a side note, I ordered suspension today. Bilstein Sport struts with H&R race springs. I am stoked and can't wait to get this stuff. They were out of stock on the collar wrenchs so I need to find one. Or does anyone know of any tricks on how to get the strut out of the housing without the wrench to turn the lock down bolt thing?Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.

You can use a impact gun if you have one. Or with some pliers grab the tip of the spindle were its kinda flattned and a ratchting wrench to get that nut off.

If it has slack then its a tooth off and wont slip on the tensioner. once you get that side good then work around to the tensioner and slide it on. Like i said it take patience(I have very little ha ha)
