Yea it is loose, I can push it all the way counterclockwise but the belt is a tiny bit too short

I don't know what's up with the timing belt then. I though the tensioner ha to be all the way loose. But I have never done one on an E30.
On a side note, I ordered suspension today. Bilstein Sport struts with H&R race springs. I am stoked and can't wait to get this stuff. They were out of stock on the collar wrenchs so I need to find one. Or does anyone know of any tricks on how to get the strut out of the housing without the wrench to turn the lock down bolt thing?Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.Comment

I used a pipe wrench on the housing, and channel locks on the strut itself. Wasn't too difficult. BTW you will love bilstein sports + H&R race! I have had mine for a few months now and the ride is just about perfect.Comment

You can use a impact gun if you have one. Or with some pliers grab the tip of the spindle were its kinda flattned and a ratchting wrench to get that nut off.Comment

Its a tight fit and has to be perfect. I did mine a few months ago. It takes a bit of patience. the belt on the side opposite the tensioner has to be super tight. get it as taught as you can while making sure the crank and cam dont move. If it has slack then its a tooth off and wont slip on the tensioner. once you get that side good then work around to the tensioner and slide it on. Like i said it take patience(I have very little ha ha)Comment

Thats the method I was thinking of using for the struts. Thanks for backing me up! I am stoked. Not only will it be lower, but it should handle great! All of the bushings are brand spanking new to.Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.Comment

Next time I will, actually I need your help with the new vert, I still can't get it to idle right. It idles at 1500 RPM in Park or Neutral, but drops down to 700-800 in gear. Any ideas?Comment
