I just realized with all the money you're spending to fix your car from drifting/power-sliding. I'm pretty sure you could have done a 5-speed swap to the damn thing. Glad it's coming along though ;)

            I maybe could have...

$165 for control arms and CABS, tie rods, and sway bar links
$65 or so for other tidbits
            $20 new strut housing
$40 for new wheel and tire

Its not like I can drive a 5 speed anyway :( lol I can drive auto... that night I was just being dumb/stupid

Pipe wrench with the strut assembly still on the car. Clamp it in there real tight and break the bitch loose

I did this exact same thing. I had to put the assembly back in for leverage, but it worked like a charm.

Once that's done, it's smooth sailing

The other one came off so easy, this one not so much.

Im going to try and put the collar in the vice tomorrow

I didn't read - but are you using "PB blaster" ( I think it still comes in a white bottle with a bunch of cheesey writing on it)- old school guys swear by it for old bolts - unlike "liquid wrench" - you don't have to wait 24 hours - it seems to work in about 2-3.

GG, dont have the PB but I am familiar with it.

                        Might pick some up

If you have access to a pipe wrench, I'd give
It a shot. Your best friend is leverage.

PB blaster and a craftsman $120 impact "c3" cordless impact wrench. Makes suspension parts feel like butter.

I tore a tendon in my wrist a few year ago - and around that time I needed to to a full rear re-build. It saved my wrist - and made it SOooooo mush easier then in how it's normally done.

5-toes - did you run a carfax on your car? Is it a east coast salt car? Kinda sounds like it?

Nope my car is a Portland BMW bought car

I have enough records to know all the owners

                              No rust at all.

Id get an impact on it, but the collar nut is the one that screws into the strut housing. Its an inch and a half wide.

                              The 19mm came off easy
