Thinking about selling my 89 325i to buy an 88 325ix 4 door. Got a baby due in two months and the extra doors would be nice. Also, the wife's car is FWD and the AWD would be good to have as an option. I figure that if I sell my car for around $3500, I'd just need to scrounge up another $1,000. Anybody have any experience/insight into this quandary?

If anyone else has a car that they are about to scrap i need a large section of the trunk pan, mine is rusty and i'd like to just cut it out and weld in a new one.....soooo if someone has a shell they are getting ready to toss i'll pay scrap prices or whatever you deem appropriate.

Damn, wish I had known. I would have gladly cut the whole floor out for you. Next E30 I strip I will keep you in mind. Could you use part of an E28 trunk floor?

Hell yeah! Propane torch did the trick and the tie rods came off. Passenger side relatively easy after 45 seconds of heat.

Driver side took a few cycles of heat. The monkey wrench would not stay on, and YES I knackered the hell out of it, but vice grips with a cheater did the trick.

Also I dropped the sway bar to get to the passenger side inner ball joint nut, did the trick and that is off too.

Now just need to go back out another day and get the control arm and strut assembly off.

Strut assembly should come out fairly easy once you get all the ball joints, etc off

Yup... already did Driver's side. Easy stuff, three nuts and it drops out

remember you will need an alignment after this 5toes. And I have tired les schwab (tires 5) and firestone (tried 1), both of which will not align bmws due to not having the "proper" tools. Just keep this in mind.

I used les schwab to align my car not like there is much they can do

They won't touch mine because its a "BMW". multiple have told me this now. All I wanted was for them to adjust the toe.
