              So I am getting a compression tester today so I have some numbers. However, I already drained my engine oil. Should I just pour the old shit back in to test it?

                  That would be fine. Since it's not under any load - I bet you'd be fine doing it with just the oil that hanging around.

                  So - when you drained your oil, did you look for metal bits? You should feel for them, and run a magnet through it.

                    I didn't look in it very hard but I didn't really see any. There is no oil left, I left the drain plug open over night and let the oil cooler lines drain overnight too. I'll just screw those back in and pour the stuff back in.

                                Ugh, stock shift lever and Z3 are the same price.

                                Edit: Austin, remember how my shift lever is shaved? Any chance you think I can save that somehow?

                                edit edit: ATE Super blue, I need to find some local, or anyone know a cheap online shop selling it. $15/liter seems high
