      Parts car

Do you guys know anything about this guy in Redmond? '86 eta shell part out. I'm interested in the 5 speed and swap parts. I need to figure out how to store them until we can get out there to pick them up.

      Thanks -

Whatever you do, make sure you prep well.

Have you seen the dumpster fire that is my E30? thats what happens when you don't do good prep. The dude who had the car before me did a shit job, and ended up with peeling shit paint.

I think that's backwards - the Blue Jays look like cardinals, but blue whereas a Stellar or I always called them Scrub Jays - have white and no mohawk.

Or maybe I've been led astray all these years. Wouldn't be the first.

Interesting! I'll keep an eye out for your E30 this summer.

Did tons of prep work and painted my bumper, hood, and fender today, very happy with the results!

                      Thanks.
I just pulled mine, it's not fun. I had to take the wiper motor off to even have a shot. The real way to get it done is pull the hvac out or at least tilt the thing out like you are removing it to gain enough clearance. I took the blower motor and flaps out and it was still a bitch.

My advice: be sure to put a known good working linkage back in there or pony up and buy a new one at $380. Doing it again sounds unappetizing. I am waiting to install the new one until I pull my hvac (which I need to replace anyway). Patience is key if you don't plan on pulling the hvac!

Finally got a new set of tires!

205/50R16 Firestone Firehawk Indy500 tires from tire rack.

Turn in feels so much better then the 8 year old Kumhos I had on the koseis.

so installed the 7lb flywheel on the m42 over the weekend. wow.

amazing mod. car feels better in every single way. Contrary to what all you people predicted.. the driveability didnt change much at all. very easy to drive, clutch grabs great, and the fitment of the flywheel and m20 clutch kit is bang-on. no on/off feeling of the clutch what so ever. my old and tired getrag 240 is making a little more noise now, though. atleast its super clean ;)

as far as power delivery... the car is getting better gas mileage and low-end torque is even better. I was going up a hill at 25mph in second at 1750rpm with 3 people in the car with no trouble - with "just" a m42! awesome mod wish I installed it a long time ago... revs up like a bike now
