This is IX parts you found but aren't buying

Figured we could have a place to share parts that we see for sale, but aren't going to buy ourselves. Someone else might be looking for that part.

The most inexpensive pair of front strut housings I've seen and they're surprisingly clean for a car in this region (NY).

I like the premise of this thread ;D

On the above strut inserts, I think you'd want to see a pic of the threads on the top. That is where it rusts out, where the groves are the thinnest. The fact that this guy didn't take out the old inserts gives me list of pause. Buyer be warned.

Yeah those look sketchy. But you can always chop off the tubes and weld new ones on (E36 are same wall thickness, diameter and thread i think). The rest looks great!

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Yeah I found a shifter arm from Latvia on eBay for a friend, I think it was like $40 total shipped; got to California in a week. Same company selling the diff.

Those gland nuts will come out. First soak down with PB blaster for a week.

The key is to have a helper hold the strut on an anvil, vice or other chunk of iron. Work around the perimeter of the top of the tube with a larger sized punch. Keep going round and round to get the threads loosened up. Use a pipe wrench on the gland nut or even some mongo channel locks.

This has worked for me on a dozen pair, maybe more - and yes, I live in the rust belt.

                        But e36 don't have threads ;)

I have a tap that will run them through, and I also happen to know a guy in South Florida hoarding some ix strut tubes that already have good threads in them - just waiting for someone else to purchase custom coilovers :D
