Why would you drive it knowing you had a fueling problem at high rpm and not try to figure out?
S50 Is dead thanks to TRM.

A satisfactory resolution can not be reached And once no further action is being taken on their part, you can come to this board and say what you want. Doing what you are doing now is immature, irresponsible, and simply doesn't contribute to resolving anything (might be doing just the opposite).Comment

OP,
Yes, newly built engine smoke depending on which chemicals you used for the build. Typical oil, wd40, assembly lube or anything else placed on the cylinder walls and piston heads. These chemicals burn blue, not black. Chugging black smoke(which you must have had if you were this rich) is not representation of normal smoke associated with initial start up.
Furthermore, the tune would have to be so far off to wash the cylinders and fill the oil with fuel that it would most likely not run or at least not go through the RPMs.
Did you monitor a wide band during the initial break in? Have you pulled codes? They should be present if the A/F's were that far off, regardless of the tune.
You mentioned FI tune. I LOL"ed, it doesn't work like that the computer does not just throw fuel unless it has an air flow reference IE map or MAF. If it was an FI tune, 90% of FI tunes are actually lean(to make power until boost) until boost comes in usually over 3k. If this was the case your break in would have been lean not rich, this is of course, you were given an much more expensive FI tune by accident.
Are you sure an injector did not fail? How about a coil? Did you have the injectors flowed before you used them on your rebuild? I would start searching there, to slam a known tuner on this or any forum with the inaccurate info you have posted is wrong.
Your tune is a simple burn, its a file transfer that they have done countless times. They did not do any custom adjustments etc and I for one, highly doubt it was the tune.
I do think it was fuel, spark or assembly related and of course operator error when you were breaking in an engine with an extremely rich condition.
I hope you figure it out and when you do, i hope you publicly apologize to TRM. I am very interested to hear the final outcome.
Hmm.. sucks to hear. I agree on the refund, however I still have to throw some logic in an say that even at 100 percent duty cycle (especially over 5500rpms) I dont see how that is enough fuel to wash cylinders but perhaps it is on a new rebuild.
point in case, there is a reason I broke in my s50 with a stock tune then added my mods.
oh, and on the idle concerns, my s50s idle will bounce even with a turner chip, my m50 did the same thing, so don't just judge a tune without trying some others.Turbo E30

OP,
I am not trying to cause problems or come across as a jerk but I agree with those who have stated there is more to this story. You mention another car, whos car? What year M3? What mods? Where is the owner? Is he on r3v or BFC? Can you post pictures of said car? Maybe you can post a video with this M3, the tuner chip and then the TRM chip you claim does not run right. I am sure that would help you. NO?
If you truly believe the tune actually caused the failure I am sure you would be going after TRM for way more than a measly 300 bucks. The fact you had multiple codes indicates other issues. What injector did you buy at Napa? Can you post picture of the Napa and the injector giving you the code?
Additionally, you mention you drained the oil and it looked like vegetable oil... but you did not mention bearing material etc. This is where i call BS. Under any break in you will have metal partials and if what you claim is true, you would have had a large amount of aluminum and copper alloy in your oil yet you leave this vital part of the story out.
If you did drain the oil, I am pretty sure you would have noticed this, yet you never mention this. If you did see the bearing material why would you replace the oil?
You continue to make claims that the fuel filled oil ruined your engine but no comments about bearing and metal debris in the oil, which would be a direct, noticeable indication of a failed engine. However all you mention is that the oil looked like vegetable oil. Can you post a picture of the oil?
What ASE certs did you have?
I truly hope you get this mess straightened out, I assure you, your fuel/oil issues was not caused by a chip...
good luck!Turbo E30

If TRM is so confident it wasn't their chip, they should refund the money and just resell the said chip....Comment

more question what kind os plugs were you running? They didnt fuel foul? Shit my experiance with my old bracket car it would foul plugs like a motherfucker when it ran rich and it never dumpped that much fuel in the car . Did it load up? It would have had to have blacked smoked. Also how long did it blue smoke? Every motor Ive ever put together juss shot out a few puffs then cleared up. Even with low tesion rings .84 318I Delphin RIP

According to the OP, he installed fresh rings and con rod bearings. And it took three years in the making... Hmmm... Were the bearings measured for clearance after torquing. What torque? New bolts? Everything sounds so fishy, and I am sure I was clear from my first post...Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Don't worry. I am not angry at all. In fact I am laughing out loud, and rolling on the floor. This thread is giving me such a grin. You got no idea. I just can't wait for the TRM reply.
Honestly, just between you and I, nobody's around us to listen, do you really think TRM is to blame for your problems? Come closer, you can whisper in my ear...:pimp:Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
