I just need you to develop an M54 OBD1 turbo tune!

Haven't had the budget to work on this, kinda sucks, the E30 is just taking up space right now in the garage and the M20 and M54 are just taking up space in my driveway... I did pick up a new daily though, my Pathfinder's transmission decided to kick the bucket. Found an 87 635CSi, guy wanted 2300 for it, I got him down to 1700 and snatched it up. Pics:

Style 5 2 piece wheels, roughly 150k on the odometer, E30 sport seats retrofitted, 5 speed swap, 3.46 open diff, tan and brown interior. All around decent car, though I did have to replace the entire rear subframe, as the passenger side trailing arm mount had completely ripped out. Luckily, I had gotten one for free a few months before. I'm going to have the broken one repaired and have camber and toe adjustment welded into it.

Nice, though I'm a huge fan of Euro E24s. Trying to sell my '89 one right now...

I hate the US bumpers, they're so ugly... Honestly wish there was a full plastic bumper option, I'd be all over that front and read...

Plastic bumper would look interesting, though I can't really imagine how it would look.

Finding a good, cheap euro isn't too difficult though, just takes patience.

What really sucks is, if my Pathfinder were still running, I'd have not bought this E24, instead I'd have spent the money on the turbo I want :( I'll get there...

I'm still around, still trying to figure everything out, mainly budget-wise... I did pick up a Garrett T04 turbo though, I need to start buying the parts to rebuild my M54. I'm also thinking I should convert it to OBDI.

Just completed my M54B30 transplant into E30. Mounted the engine on chassis engine mounts and modified the crossmember to clear the sump pan. I now have great access to the steering rack and have the oil and sump weight further back by using the original sump.
Used M20 flywheel and M20 325i gearbox. Running an after-market engine management: DTA.
Run without viscous fan but have electric fan behind the grill. Modifed the front bumper to two individual 1/4 bumpers and then removed the rad air obstruction that was behind the bumper. Replaced with mesh. Electric fan operates off the DTA or fan temp switch. Ran flatout on country lanes for about 20 miles and did not need electric fan. Also have no air con, power steering or heater matrix.

                      Car is used for rallying.
The M54B30 into E30 is a mint package. Running vanos delete and wasted spark, so no coil on plug, vanos and cam sensor failures to worry about :-)

VANOS/DISA controller is on the way, Megasquirt 3 kit as well. Also ordered the Zionsville mechanical thermostat and have an M50 throttlebody already. Hoping to be ready to install into my E24 by the end of the month. Going to run headers and 3" exhaust.

MS3 can already control the VANOS natively.

Dual VANOS? I was reading about it and it honestly just confused me. Hoveringuy's board is as straight forward as it gets.

yes. it actually supports 4 VVT/vanos channels. there's both an S65 V8 and S85 V10 running on it.

Interesting. Do they have to run the MS3x board? Guess I'll try to find those builds.
