Is there an alternative to the Hoffmeister kink grommets?

Water leak, water leak…. These “grommets” (51131870459) have been popping out, or if you go too far they just crack then crumble.

I’ve tried multiple ways from installing from grommet into chassis then kink, then grommet onto the kink and into chassis.

Any alternative to this madness. It’s seems like I’ve gone through $100 of these with the foam seal.

How about some butyl tape behind it before you install?

That's my next go... Just some 3m black urethane. There's not much area in there to have stacked high.

I know it isn't the preferred solution but I put a little bit of RTV on clips/grommets that pass through the body to prevent leaks. I would use body/window sealant stuff but I don't usually have it on hand.

If you push the kink in to hard it Just blows right through the grommets…
