    Is it strange that my car only took 1 can of freon with low side at 45 and high 250??

    All seals,dryer,and expansion valve are new and lowest i got down is 60 degree on fan speed 2. WTF!

    previous compressor did 45-50 degree.

      Uh stupid question here, but did you vacuum out the system before hand? Also you're charging it yourself? Me and some buddies didn't have too much luck with that.

      Also what was the temp outside? It was 103 here in Austin with 30% humidity. The coldest I saw was the low 50s driving looking for a new apartment. Still quite comfortable.

        vacuum yes,nah I let the mechanic do it because I have shitty gauge.

        outside temp was 91f and humidity 84?

          This is what BMW said you should be seeing at that temp and humidity. So technically its correct, but kinda shitty. I've found higher revs help tremendously with our old compressors which means they're a little worn out. ;)

          80 is humidty, 69 is the vent temp, and the other two are high and low pressures.

            93 degree+humidity 53
            vent temp
            fan speed 4=55 degree
            fan speed 2=40 to 45 degree
            my mechanic put in 32ounce of r134a freon.
            but overall I'm happy=no ass swamp or sweaty balls :)

            gonna get tint tomorrow so it might help vent temp better.

              Good to know. Me and Maks have found speed 4 will get the evaporator too cold and trigger its temp probe to shut off the compressor. He say what your pressures were?

              I'm in Houston for a few days. Earlier this afternoon I saw 48 degrees on speed 3 with recirculating on with 95 degrees outside.

                forgot to ask pressue but did get info on how many ounce of freon.

                    You might think about using propane like most Eastern European use. The ass-rapers at the EPA has petitioned to remove R134A from the evil home DIY and manufactures. The EPA certification isn't hard to acquire but the refrigerant could become very expensive looking forward. Looks like the snake-charmers desire to shove it down the peon electorate's throat is on the fast track just in case our First Tranny doesn't get reelected.

                        If I use this upgraded 14" fan in front of the condenser, can I get rid of my aux fan/clutch?

                          You would replace your aux fan with the 14" electric, but you would need to keep your primary mechanical fan and clutch. The 14" alone will not be sufficient to cool your car.

                            Ok, I guess I was confusing the mechanical fan with the aux fan ( I though the engine fan was the aux fan)...thanks!

                              With a lower fan temp switch you might be able to swing it. I would just replace the clutch fan with a puller myself. Did it earlier this week and don't regret it a bit.
