    Al blocks aren't thick enough either. I've herd them warping on engine stands (M54)


    My older idea is to DEturbo a b58.. But it still wont be lighter than N52 I think.

    I don't trust most the 22rpd numbers I see.

      B58 would be a turd without a turbo
      89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

        N53. Crank up the CR. 14:1? Pump gas, direct injection.

        But I see the valves are smaller to fit the injector.

            The power output is not super impressive but the torque curve looks nice. It would be nice to see a dyno comparison of N52 vs N53, not to compare peak figures but to compare the shapes of the plots.

              N53 is a euro motor. Would have to find the standard dyno over there, then compare charts.

              But they list 272hp from factory. No valvetronic, but DI to make up the TQ. Some extra weight in injectors and mechanical fuel pump.
