ITB Kit and Harness (REDUX Racing)

So I plan going with ITBs for my m20 sometime in the near future (if all goes well). Browsing around online I found this kit. This looks extremely promising. They also have just the engine harness and ecu (case anyone was for looking for new harness because the OE stuff is NLA). I think I'm going to order this harness and ecu from them soon. Hopefully this will eliminate any electrical gremlins an old 30+ year old wiring can have.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe this harness can be made to work with the OE DME as well. If you ask them.

I would wait a bit if you're looking. There will be an equally capable ecu on the market soon with a few different options, very much plug and play like the above, at a much lower cost.

Do you have something in the works? Or what exactly did you have in mind? Because the above option seems like a good deal (imo of course)

I don’t, a buddy does. His kit will have several options, all PNP. Should be a decent chunk more affordable than that harness/ECU kit.

Is he on here? Does he have a website? Or an instagram?

I plan on running a standalone anyway. So Megasquirt or something like this is what I was going to have to run with anyway.

Was your buddy working wiring for different aftermarket ecu's as well. Or was his harness designed for OE DME's only?

Hey all. I am the guy/shop that awdbob is talking about. I own classicdaily.net

i will have multiple options for the e30 m20 in the next couple weeks. I am finishing a few things for the kits but they will be VERY complete along with detailed documentation.

feel free to email me, jake@classicdaily.net if you would like.

The info will be posted publicly in detail soon. I like everything to be 100% before doing so.

I am debating on what to do with my E30, and Soda No trying to steal your thread, but what kind of HP can actually be gained using ITB’s? My real question is, I would like to get to above 225HP with a faulty easy M20 build. I am working on a set of Racing dynamics headers, no CAT, possible crank and or camshaft, and ITB’s. Will ITB’s, Headers (good ones), cam, injectors, mapping, enable me to get nicely above 200+ HP? I am not looking for S54 #’s, but trying to get close to S50-S52 numbers.

A pretty basic stroker around 10:1 CR should make 220whp. Will need a camshaft something in the 280s for duration will be good. Ideally you give the head a bit of a rub but not essential at that power level

What's wrong with your stock harness? Are you planning to use PNP DME ?

Obviously that harness doesn't replace the entire car harness, just DME to C101 from what it shows. I use PNP DME with ITBs and successfully modded oem harness to remove chasis ground from all sensors (just like Rama did in his ECUmaster harness). All it took a couple of splices in OEM harness as there are plenty of wires and done. Reversable as well if you ever go back to 100 % OEM setup. No need to remove/slice the entire engine harness as well, All ground connections for sensors are 7-10" up from DME connector, everything is easily accessible. OEM injector harness already have all temp sensor conductors separated so no need to mod that. Just a few splices by DME connector and done. Best part it is free, looks 100% oem and easily reversible (my goal with this e30 project). From what I found, every sensor (except oil level sensor) has it's own sensor ground conductor going all the way back to DME where BMW bunched them all up and connected to the chassis ground conductor from the strut tower. DME connector has a sensor ground pin (don't remember which one..have to look at my records) which is isolated from chassis and perfect to land all those sensors (IAT and coolant temp). Done...

Basically everything what Rama offers here in the link below (only for OEM DME) and 100% using OEM harness
