Both the MAF kit and PSIK use TWO diffrent tunes and MAF's? Thus the reason the surge upchrage?

ex: what if I allready had your MAF kit , and i wanted to installed your "CAI pipe" i would need a different chip?

what are the gains of using your MAF kit with just a CAI? Its wouldn't make the same power as stated on page 2?

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy my MAF and WAR chip. Great combo in itself, tune switching does come in handy. Even the MAF and without the WAR chip is great in the womans car.

But

I cannot justify the PSIK price. At all. To spare a lot of writing about drawn out $$$ Figures, I'll leave it at that.

Also. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY cannot stand that there are no tunes available to download freely from users. None. No forums anywhere support this (See http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=226634 ). I don't know the real reason why the WAR room was shut down, but I cannot stand the fact that You are the only person to go for one. IF you even have one available... When this product was launched, it was a HUGE selling point and would've been super beneficial to users. Now it's gone... Eliminating the exclusivity, and most likely killing a TON of sales. That 1000 war chip figure could have been 2000.

And finally, the windows XP requirement annoyed the living hell out of me. I mean, come on... Sure it's nice to be able to use an ancient computer. But I for one do not own an ancient computer... It's USB... Let the guys stuck with serial ports use XP. I don't like that I have to have a dedicated partition on my laptop, JUST to run the software on XP. It's literally the only thing installed....

And no maptracing or live monitoring. worth noting.

Those are my gripes. No offense intended towards brody. Just voicing my thoughts.

my cobb accessport didnt run in vista when i first got it, that annoyed me. but they fixed that after a few months.

SOOO many businesses lack in this area. I'm not supporting Enterprise, I'm just saying a lot of businesses don't care about their customers. Brody, I don't know you, but when you come on this forum getting into pissing matches with people it turns me off to your business. Would be the same for any business, if the representative of that business is pissing and moaning, giving people the FU, indifferent about problems with their product, or anything but cordial, I'm out. I'll take a slightly less effective product at the same price if the service is better. In fact, I might even pay more.

I know these forums can be a bashing ground, but this is your target demographic. You need to understand us and not spit on people just because they kick you in the nuts. As a represenetative of your business it's your job to take criticism and use it for you benefit, not to fight it tooth and nail. Also, the remarks on many threads regarding lack of support after purchase should be of great concern to you, it will erode the foundation of what you have built.

Just my thoughts as a business person.

If it was 1997 still we could do more volume and bring the price down. We have found the sweet spot with our products and know what to invest for the given time it will take to move them all at the most efficient return

As for the WAR Room. It has been mentioned on numerous forums. Our website was attacked 3 times in a 1 1/2 month stretch. First time, not big deal. Second time it was close to being a huge problem for everyone. The Third time got us black listed on Google because our website would install crap on your computer when you visited.

We identified the vulnerability as the WAR room and our forum believe it or not and to get off of Google's black list, we had to remove the threats. The easiest thing to do was eliminated them entirely.

The WAR Room was a paid subscription. A one time fee for life, the amount of people who actually purchased the subscription was low. With all the members, the actual amount of use was minimal. It was the same handful of people all the time and wasn't actually helping sales like you may think.

Nothing is stopping people from sharing tunes on the forums. This fact right there shows you how little most customers actually cared about the tune sharing we provided.

We may bring something more secure back and base it out of the software. But that is more time on money for developments that do little in the end for the WAR Chips sales. We can't spend money on stuff that doesn't actually make a returnable difference.

The XP issue is because when the WAR Chip was released XP was still THE Operating system of choice. You can't count Vista as a proper OS, it was a total joke, so we skipped it entirely. The WAR Chip works with Windows 7 under a virtual XP instance which you can download from Microsoft's website.

The biggest hurdle with Windows 7 is the recognition of the WAR Chip. As far as the computer is concerned the WAR Chip is just a USB flash drive. However, it takes up to 25 minutes to see the WAR Chip is plugged in and when the write process begins, it formats and then needs to recognize the chip again. Well, because it takes so long, the software times out.

Aside from rewriting the firmware for the WAR Chip, the solution of using "virtual XP" is much more efficient and safer than starting over again with new bugs etc.

I'm sorry you feel that way. We do take care of our customers and those that are just out to nut bash would never be buying anything anyway. Maybe I get a bit too emotional at times, but I always fight for what I believe in no matter how trivial it is.

I going to postulate a guess that the paid subscription is probably what prevented the sharing of the tunes. Some people could see it as a great thing, but others could've been put off that they had to pay even more. This was very evident when in the nissan world, Calum tried doing this with his chips. It failed miserably, so he opened up the forum to allow it free access and his sales took off like wildfire. He wasn't able to keep up with it and eventually made is RT chip architecture, software, and schematics open source.

Consider opening it up for free for those who own a war chip, and I can see more people using it to their advantage. Tunes could easily be hosted on dropbox which takes the hosting off your servers (Which might have been the hacking issue right there. Because people are downloading files with a specific and somewhat unintelligible format, it's easy to slip malicious stuff in)

Dropbox is a good Idea and I actually never thought of that. The WAR Room was free for the first year as a promotional thing with the same results, not very many people actually capitalizing on it.

The WAR Room would become free again once it integrates into the windows software, but we may have to put a small update price for those who don't have WAR memberships and want the new version to recoup development right away.

also what other modifications are involved? i hear the coolant routing would need to be reworked... are there any wire splicing with this kit compared to the miller MAF?
