i used an 88 325i harness.
i have an early style oil level sender for the m30 that should work for you.
i'll take pics for you of how i did my wiring. My feedback:

Thanks. I figured out the oil switch connector and also realized the oil level connector in my e30 harness is a round connector sort of similar to the oxygen sensor. So I think I need to cut that connector and wire in a square one like the one from the M30
How did you wire the alternator? Did you use the M30 harness? The one that bolts to the engine or the E30 harness?
Do you know what this single wire with a connector hooks up to?

The '87 harness would be primo IMO. After that BMW gummed the injector harness in this damn plastic rail. Won't stretch the legnth of the M30. The alternator and starter will need lengthening for sure. The oil level sender with a b35 oil pan has the square 3 pin connector. An older style level sensor is a circle with 2 pin, like the O2 sensor.
Is that single wire near the alternator? It could go to the A/C compressor, if you're running one. Or possible the starter.
This may help, they're both M20 harnesses going on an M30, just different chassis, so.....
I had to cut a bunch of the black sheathing off of the Super ETA harness to allow re-routing of some of the wires, since the oil pressure sender and the AFM are on opposite sides of the engine, and clip a few connectors off to reuse some of the older style ones like on the oil pressure switch and the temperature gauge sender. Also needed was the mount, crank position sensor, and harmonic balancer from a B35 engine. Mine were already installed previously in preparation for the swap...There was an issue with the large positive cable going from the alternator to the starter, as the Super E cable was too short to reach in its stock configuration. The easy solution was to get this same cable harness from a B35 engine, as it is seperate from the main harness and contained in a neat little sub-harness that goes from the alt to the starter. Fit perfectly...I also had to lengthen the signal wire going to the starter, which was also a bit too short. Otherwise it was very straightforward and just took a little patience...I then plugged the stock Motronic 179 from a B35 equipped E24/E32/E34 vehicle. Started right up on the first try! I was very relieved.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5

On my buddy's swap we just did we used his factory 88 harness. NO wires were cut or modified. We redid the wire looming so the AFM wiring would separate from the relays and took apart the M20 injector harness rail and hid the wires in the shell of the M30 injector harness rail. Looks like it came that way.
I don't know what you're mentioning coolant tank wiring for but that is part of the body harness, not engine.

A/C wiring is part of the car harness, not the engine harness.///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

i the alternator wiring goes on only one way iirc.
i used the e30 88 325is engine harness, i had to lengthen injector wires 1,2,4,6.
i also just re loomed everything as mr325 said above. My feedback:
