Yeah, as far as I know the incessant rattle is due to the lighter flywheel not damping engine vibrations as much, so the G240 input shaft rattles around. Look up "Getrag rattle" on the web, it seems to be pretty common. Car enthusiasts of all sorts of makes and models complain about rattle noises after LTW flywheel swaps.

Wow, that means I'm probably not the only person that drives around with the gas pedal sitting right where the secondary opens... And rev matches into 3rd whenever I get out of the gas ... Lol-Christian

That's true, it is rattling itself apart, slowly. The rattle is kind of a drag when going down something like the North Cascade Highway or some other mountain pass. Also when picking up a girl or whatever, "Oh that noise? That's perfectly normal." Just not something any of the other bimmers I've driven have done.
Anywho... Stroker motors right?? I'd love one but I think I'd just go s54 when the time comes...-Christian

No engine updates as I'm still waiting on Dbilas......they suck!
Did install a reman Z3 1.9 rack......holy shit! Best upgrade so far. Point and go feel. Heavier than standard e30 rack, but awesome!
Also installed GC coils with KMAC camber plates. Spring rates are 525F and 700R. Running -2.5* camber in front. Car handles great.
Installing sump armor next weekend too......gotta protect the engine build :)Comment

Nice! Yeah the Z3 1.9 rack is the shit.
When you get that dBilas ITB, can you take some good, close shots of it? And maybe measure the distance from the mount flange to the center of the throttle plates? I am working on an idea for "stealth" / OEM looking ITBs and one difficult area is picking the distance of the throttle plates from the injectors.Comment

More updates
Been ordering more parts and finally received the head back from the machine shop. Picked up an eBay ceramic coated header for $200. Also picked up a Kopi ACS rear apron and Reiger side skirts. Ordered intake and exhaust gaskets today so I can port match them. Also ordered other misc items that will be needed.

Started tear down today. A/C almost gone, cooling stuff torn out, no more old intake manifold.......
The fun gets to be real fun tomorrow. Pulling the head and preparing for new head with cams, lightweight lifters, 19lb injectors, header.....AND ITB'S!!!!
Can't wait to hear this thing.
