Cripes. Looks like I was right when I did some back-of-the-envelope stuff and determined I could build an M20 2.8 for less than a M42 2.0

I too eagerly await completion of this build, and would be happy to help swapping the engine should it be needed.Comment

Sweet. I've been half-assedly looking for a spare m42 to build and boost. Now seeing this threat is getting me excited again. This winter I'm going with a single mass-lightened flywheel, Z4 shifter, new clutch, and either a 4:10 or 3:75lsd. I have in open 4:10 in line now and thinking about dropping down since i eventually plan to boost.DENY IGNORANCE!

I think 3.73 would be perfect for FI. I ran 3.73 on my previous stock M42, and it was perfect for hwy driving.Sweet. I've been half-assedly looking for a spare m42 to build and boost.
