If I wire the stock "pusher" fan to a switch to turn on/off, will it be enough without the engine fan to keep it cool if I'm sitting still? I'm contemplating doing this.

don't know - the list CFM's I think - Most of those fans are for street rods - BIG american blocks...I think they can handle a m20 at idle during the summer.
        George,

Are you using an electric fan for you m30 swap? I'm still deciding on doing the electric thing or stock fan?

I think it would be, the stock M20 clutch fan isn't going to be moving that much air at 650rpm anyway. $75 plus $20 for a mounting kit sounds like a good deal.

My A/C compressor is dead, took out the mechanical fan, cut the compressor belt, and just let the auxiliary fan do the cooling. Been working fine for about 2 years now, plus I can turn it off when I'm on the interstate.

So you use the A/C button to "flip" the aux fan on and off?

Yes, you can only use the m30's crank/normal fan in "engine position 3" The puts the motor really far back - almost sitting on the firewall, and expect to have to pound out some clearence on the tranny tunnel.

"Position 1" has no room for a raiator in it's normal place(engine TOO far forward) - a custom radiator has to be made to fit behind the grill..

Position 2 is where it's at - 3 is just too tight for comfort.

go with a flex-a-lite black magic. i think it pulls more CFM than most other fans and it looks the best and is pretty thin. Also, it fits my radiator very well. i just wired it straight to my battery and hooked up a toggle switch right next to the shifter in the console. the problem there is that you have to remember to turn it on/off. lets the car warm up a bit quicker in the winter though. (for those of us that have snow)

Yup. The only problem with this that I have is that the idle raises maybe 50-100 RPMs to account for the added load the compressor would normally add. I tried unplugging different wires from the back of the switch, but none of them fixed the problem.

While were on the subject what is a good replacement radiator that is thinner than the stock unit and cools at least as good?

Beej are you using the ac fan in it's stock position in front of the radiator, or did you move it?

I would love to do this if I can just remove the fan & clutch.

Wow, this is an old ass thread.
I removed all my A/C components, I took everything out, the ziptied the fan on the front side of the radiator, and hooked the A/C fan back up to its stock harness.
                            Works great.

So, in order to use the air conditioner's electric fan it is necessary to move it to the radiator side?

                              Thanks
