Since there is more airflow does this give better breathing/power? Or is it only growl?

      It's just noise.

Yea there's never any real way to get a few extra hp. If you had a heat shield you might get 1 extra hp, thats it. Thats with a cone filter as well...

I did this earlier today and I am very pleased. It sounds very nice on the street at WOT around 4-6k rpms.

I think its like the airbox lid and a reusable filter, something like that.

I said it was "inspired" because Porsche sold the similar product, and it makes the mod seem like a better idea. Even though copying off of their "motorsport sound" box is just an excuse to make the engine growl cooler. :P lol. Kinda rice, but it's all good.

At least I know it doesn't do anything really:

Ah, so that's the secret to your stupidly loud intake! I could hear it in my car, driving like five metres behind you. Not even my valve tick could drown out the sound :D

Might have to do it to my airbox, love induction sounds 8)
yep, that would be it. i didnt make mine look like a sponge like Robert though, just a few larger speed holes in the side.

The sound package on Porsches also had a slightly louder exhaust, and the drilled airbox also had a cool metal ring around the large hole in it :P
