Ok, just talked to Clarence over at Bilstein and he's found the flange nuts that I need and is sending them over today.

I'll take pictures when they get here and let you know how it works out.

Can't wait to dissemble the suspension for the 4th time...

$44 for 2. Cheaper then stock BMW ones, and these have gaskets in them.

That's the part number for Bilstein HD e30 IX shocks. What good are those?

Yea, that collar nut I posted above wasn't the right one turns out. Still trying to get Bilstein to send me the right ones.

It's getting pretty annoying trying to get them to actually follow through.

meh, seems like a pain to buy the billies... prob just gonna buy the ones from GC. Anyone know if you HAVE to cut the strut tube? I would think i can just put a small spacer under and a larger one on top to get the same effect. Im not looking to drop the car anymore then it already is =]

...that's the whole point of buying shorter shocks.

If you don't want to go lower then what you have then why would you buy short shocks and space them when you could just buy regular shocks?

                            they are several inches shorter...

and if you believe GC, the valving is the same as sports, anyway.

What about them is shorter, the casing or the shafts?
If the casings are shorter, you'd still have to chop the tubes.

                              No special gland nuts though.

Are the casings 36mm like the i/is?

Um no, the reason is so i dont bottom out every time i hit a bump bigger then 1 inch... which is about every 30 seconds in san francisco. My car is already stupid low for a DD.
