I am looking at picking up:
17x7.5 ET20 front and rear or possibly staggered with 17x8.5 et20 in the rear.
I know 215/40/17 is mentioned a lot but I can't get a load rating of more than 87 and my late model requests 88+. Does anyone have problems with insurance for running tires like this? Is 235/40/17 or 215/45/17 an option without rolling/ pulling fenders (very slight fender work would be OK but I prefer not to.) or rubbing.

E34 winter tire related question here:
My Hartges are 8,5j and I rode on 235-45-17s last winter season. I'm looking into trying a slightly narrower size this time around 225-50-17. Would 8,5 result in a tad/too much stretch?
Thnx in advance.
p.s I want to avoid buying a dedicated set of winter steelies for the time being.Comment

So you have the lower offset E31 M systems then? These will only fit an E30 with very stretched tires.Comment

Ok guys hopefully you can help me choose my tires. I have a set of 16x8 +15 XXR 501 wheels I got with my car but Im currently on Bottle Caps. I want to get new tires for the rims soon but I cant decide what tire or size to get.
Basically Im sitting on IE Stg3 Springs, Bilstein sports up front, KYB camaros in back, so not exactly slammed.
What tire size do you guys think would look good? Know any body with similar setup? I want to get a good all season tire too but I guess thats a question for a different thread.Comment

The wheels I'm interested in have a 63.4 centerbore and come with a plastic hubcentric rings installed. Will I need to buy a spacer that has a hubcentric ring that reduces the 63.4" centerbore to the 57.1" centerbore of the E30?
Or can I run them as is (with only the plastic hubcentric ring and no centerbore reducer?)

He's going to want 20mm spacers on the front. 215/35 all around (no it's not even, but you need the stretch to clear the arches).Comment
