Thank you for the fast reply, what's the highest safe offset (insuring I don't rub strut or brakes?) I'm worried that 55mm adapters is too large (a bit unsafe)

40mm minimum. I've run 52mm of stacked spacers/adapters on each side for 10k+ miles you'll be fine.

What tires I could use using 1.25" fender flares and 1.5" rears, with 17x9 et0 wheels?
Meatier the better....

You'd be better off with the +25 version and spacers. 15mm front spacers to clear the struts and nothing in the rear. 245/40 all around should work well.

Im looking at some 16x8 +15 wheels how much fender rolling would i need to make 225/45/16 tires fit? If its going to take a lot a may just run 205/50/16s. The car just gets driven spiritedly but will be turboed soon so in the future i will be looking at fitting as wide and sticky of tires as i can.

Im looking at some 16x8 +15 wheels how much fender rolling would i need to make 225/45/16 tires fit? If its going to take a lot a may just run 205/50/16s. The car just gets driven spiritedly but will be turboed soon so in the future i will be looking at fitting as wide and sticky of tires as i can.

Flat roll and stiff spring rates (500lb+) should do it.

With 205/55s 10mm rear is probably the max. The front you can do much more but that would look silly.

I'm trying to decide what wheel set up to go. I'm pretty good with the offset situation, but I'm wondering on the actual weight.

How heavy is too heavy? Being an M42 with not much poke anyway, I don't want to compromise it any further.

Looking at either 16inch or 17inch wheels. I currently have some on there that are 16lbs. The stock 14 inch wheels are only 14lbs.

Lighter the better. Although tire choice has a much larger impact on driving feel and performance than unsprung weight, IMO.

Thanks mate... although I was more curious to what is too heavy. Ie is 16 - 18lbs a "heavy" wheel for an E30. I know in modern cars which come standard with bigger wheels, they say anything under 20lbs is good...

it's an e30 re-drilled to 5x120 on Sachs spring and billstein shocks. :)

There's no such number, anyone who states a set weight figure is making it up really. Lighter = better.

So stock E30 hubs redrilled, right? 215/40 is the widest you'll fit without fender rolling and even then it will be tight in the rear on an 88+ car.
