You don't think a 9J will work at all? I could live with 8.5J rears and a 215/45 but 9J would be even better.

I have a 215/40 on a 9J wheel and it's not stretched to bad but I guess it depends on who made the tires?

I've got ix arches to fit, think I forgot that detail in the previous post, so a little poke isnt a problem, it's more clearance I'm worried about.

    ---edit---

I'm already going with the idea I'll endup widening front and rear and have budgeted for this.
16x9 +6 215/40 can work if you get proper rear spring rates (I usually order my shop's E30 BCs with at least 12K rear). That's actually an aggressive stretch, I didn't realize you were that willing. 215/45 will not be as easy, I'd avoid it. If you're going 16x9 215/40 rear I'd suggest 16x8.5 195/45 fronts.

It must just be my tires, I forget the brand but 225/40 left and 215/40 right.

I have the car on stands so I can't try them until the rear is rebuilt.

I defo don't want to go as low as 195 on a 8.5 wheels. I think 205's are as low as I'll go, I was hoping on 8J front but I'll see how wide I can go first on the back with the wheels above.

Problem with 205/xx/16s is that 205/40 is too short and leaves you with large wheel well gaps and ground clearance issues. 205/45 is ideal but will look odd next to the smaller diameter 215/40 rears. Hence, 195/45s. They will appear less stretched than 205/40s and match the rear diameter perfectly.

Thanks for the answer. 225/45 would give me the best all around performance benefits ?
And one last q. I wont need any spacers or fender roll to fit 100% proper? If the only fitment issue ill have is a little rub during a hard u turn, i wont be upset. Thanks for the answers again man. You da domb ~

hi there, will a 4x100 15x6.5 et35 "MSW BMW Basket weave" wheels with a 195/50 tire fit a stock late convertible 325i e30? will it also fit a late 325is with eibach prokit/bilstein sport suspension?

            will it need any spacer?

in addition, what/who is MSW? are they tied up to bmw or oem spec'd?

            thanks. :)

I get what your saying. I'm more inclined to run a higher side wall and not be very low than something smaller and having to go lower to sort the arch gap.

I'll see how I get on anyway with the above mentioned sizes on the wheels I have.

No, width does not equal performance.

You might need spacers and will likely need a fender roll, but that depends on wheel offset, suspension, car year...

Those fit best with 20mm spacers and 195/55 tires. 195/50 is a little short. That said, as they are they will bolt up and roll - just look odd.

MSW produced wheels mostly sold through Tirerack in the 80s/90s. European heritage I'm pretty sure. Any laying around are now OLD though.

With stiff enough coilover springs and a not-too-low height, that could work with just a flat roll.

Offset too low. Need the beginning offset of a wheel needing adapters to at least be +25 or so.

Oi. Its an 87 325i on stock goodies. Could flares suffice instead of fender roll ?

You don't need huge tires or fender flares with a stock suspension functionally, and it would look incredibly bad anyways. Please don't.
