Way over priced, that’s m3 money.

Awesome car, but yeah I’d rather buy an M3.

My mistake, 18.8 wheels...he has Hankook's on there now and claims fitting rubber has not been an issue over the years. Sexy wheels none the less.

How hard is it to replace timing chain guides?

2003 BMW M5 Lemans Blue for sale - $7900 (Chester Springs)

2003 BMW M5 for sale. Needs timing chain guides; car doesn't run properly. The timing chain is clanking around in the engine. The car itself is in excellent condition. Always garaged. This is the last year of the sought after E39 M5.

Difficult enough that most shops won't even do it, even if they can.

                      Found a 60k mile used S62 on eBay for $7,500. If you could have a 60k mile E39 M5 for about $16k all-in, I'd say you're doing pretty good!

Agreed that is super low miles and a really clean example.

True, though that's assuming one already has all the skills and tools to do the work.

An e39 M5 can bankrupt you in short order. You’d be better off just buying a solid example from the get go.

OT granted, but considering the similar price point, E39 M5 or first gen Cayman S?
