According to Subaru's site it's N/A? I wonder if there is going to be a STI version that is Turbo'd.

most informative review i have read yet on the US Spec BRZ.
      $24k for premium
$27k for limited (supposedly fully loaded model)
We were given a few 15 minute stints with two US production models of the 2013 Subaru BRZ: a high spec Limited equipped with the optional 6-speed automatic transmission and a base model Premium with the standard 6-speed manual. Read on to learn more about the 2013 Subaru BRZ in this first drive article from the automotive experts at Motor Trend.

that's a really cheap price. very nice.

im liking that engine to strut tower placement. engine is sitting pretty far back. not quite my rx8, but still pretty damn decent. but holy shit is that a busy engine bay!

That would actually be really cool. Has anybody seen any pics out yet of one done up in the Subaru Rally livery?

                        Wow, I love this.
I'd just buy the Scion, rip off the Scion badges, and slap on some Toyota Badges. Bam!

I am glad to see this car finally getting its debut - the Internet rumor mill was running out of rumors since development seemed to take forever. Anywho - I like this car, a lot. If I had to make a choice on styling alone, I'd take the Subie. In addition, I think the Subie variant will be the first to the table with a performance version (a la STI). The base version checks all the right boxes: lightweight, compact dimensions, great balance, low CG, RWD & 6-speed manual. If Subie offers an STI version, it will be amazing.

Give it 5 years to sort out the product, let depreciation set in a bit, and the aftermarket offer all kinds of goodies. This thing will be a must-have for the more frugal enthusiast.

For the supposed size/power of the engine....that bay is just a fudging mess.... Please bring back the days when one could stand in the bay....or at least get your hands around it to work on. Damn new cars...damn them all to hell!! ;-)

                              EDIT: ...

I'm very glad it's a rwd only. Screw AWD. Theirs plent of them to go around

Who cares what it's badged. No difference between this and the Mazda 3/ford fiesta in terms of branding lines being blurry.

The motor sounds fantastic...for a flat 4 that usually just sound like a big fart in the wind

It probably has a high hood for pedestrian safety requirements

As for looks the Toyota. Erosion looks like a Lexus lf and the scion looks like a Mazda rx front end with a Nissan gt rear.
