Oh man, yea I got my old schwarz car from a dealer in Long Beach for $3k with 110k miles in 2005.

Imagine what we'll be saying about e30 prices ten years from now....

I read the first post and totally agreed prices are too high. Although I thought it was weird because $3k seems like a good price and miatas / 944s are well over that. Then I read the date, lol.

I really want to get a little track car, and was kind of looking at an NA miata. For the same price though, I could get a 986 Boxter and possibly a Boxter S.

I bought my E30 in 2002 for like $7,000. people back then probably thought it was too much as well. But I also haven't had a car payment to deal with.
Yeah the no car payment is nice.

Here is the example. Granted, this thing is pretty sweet though. But $18,000??? https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/h...520473570.html

In 2015 when I bought my 88 I spent $3500. At the time I thought that I was over paying slightly. My brother told me not to buy it. Look at the market now. But this is kind of true of a lot of cheap enthusiast cars. So many cars 10 years ago or so were very affordable. Now a lot of them are out of my reach for now.

Makes me think about the 2002 market. Most of the ones I've seen in the four figure range are shells or failed project cars. My E30 was a failed project, and I got it to look semi-decent, but not Barret-Jackson level.

About a year ago, I looked at a 1990 325is 5sp calypso with bad brakes, dirty all over, unstable idle, bald tires, over worn shift linkage, unknown timing belt change interval, and ratty interior. Seller was asking $2200 dollars. I offered him $700, and patted myself on the back for not buying that car... Now I am kicking myself because maybe he would have taken 1500...
Problem is that I fall in love with every e30 I see, especially any rust free late model 325is.
