Vinni, stop being a douchebag. He probably didn't expect his area to get his that hard, and honestly, he probably had more important things to deal with instead of a car, like, I don't know, maybe dealing with his flooding house? Your comments are completely unnecessary.

I'm not sure i get it....whatever the case may be, driving in/around my area, cars are the least of everyones concerns....i hope a major tragedy like this one ever hits your area.....Things happen, shit happens....some things you can prevent, others you can't predict.
Well that's exactly it. This isn't like someone was just sitting there in their e30 and a prius driver smashed into them.(like we've seen plenty of on here recently, seems like a trend) I would feel really bad if that happened to someone because it was out of their control and the result of someone else's ignorance.

But the thing that makes this different is the fact that this was completely avoidable and the result of the OP not saving his e30 when he could have.

you're a douche bag. the man's HOUSE was flooded, his life is under duress and you're gonna lecture him and how he MIGHT have saved his $5000 car?

i hope nothing bad ever happens to you.

                This vinni

Honestly we all love our e30s but there are a million more important things to be worried about in a situation like this. Cars are cars and can be replaced in most cases. Some things can't and take priority over even the mighty e30

What does his house have to do with this? It's not like he had to make a choice between saving his house and saving his e30. It's unfortunate what happened to his house, no denying that, that couldn't be avoided. What happened to his e30 could have been avoided, he could have parked it somewhere higher up. I used to live in an area that can get flooded (but wasn't a flood zone) and people do it all the time even just during bad storms.
I personally know a lot of people that lost their homes recently and a lot of places I grew up right down the street from in seabright and long branch are now gone. That's all really sad but there's a big difference between something that can't be avoided and something that could have. Lots of people on the coast moved their cars days before this got here.

Where could he have parked? There's no real way to predict if the storm hit us head on like it did days before. Not everyone has the luxury of relocating cars to higher ground at a family member's house. Not everyone has a flat driveway that he could've lifted his e30s on. And maybe if he parked it on higher ground, whats not to say an old tree would not fall on it?

I don't live in a flood area nor near a major waterway and kept my cars at home in my garage and thankfully it didn't flood, my house isn't destroyed, but a tree branch smashed the windshield of my DD.

He had bad luck, why chastise? Its too bad your state isn't devastated by this disaster otherwise you'd be singing a different tune i'd bet.

I'd take your stance about the people that lived in coastal areas and refused to evacuate, or worse, went surfing and then are complaining that they haven't seen FEMA or the red cross and are asking to be evacuated on the 2nd/3rd floor of their homes.

And there's a big difference between simply being able to avoid something, and doing what's practical under the circumstances. Since you're obviously not in a position to know the OP's situation in the face of an impending catastrophic storm, it's not your place to play Monday Morning Quarterback.

What kind of douche bag is going to bitch someone out about what they could have done when he just got hit by a fucking hurricane? Jeez. Good luck if you dry everything out you might get lucky.
