This is not going to help Pirelli's or the FIA's arguement.

Great finish. Vettel finally had some back luck this season. Maybe we will have a fight for the Championship.

Fernando needs to borrow one of Kimi's razors. Great drive by all podium finishers but damn I can't get over how ridiculous he looks.

Good race......but the 5 left rear failures this weekend will have the FIA asking Pirelli a lot of questions. As reported during the race, it was speculated that curbs and/or tire pressure may have been the cause. I'm sure we'll find out more as this get investigated. Also, earlier this month there were rumors circulating that Michelin might be considering re-entering the F1 game. I hope they do so we can resume the tire wars of a few years ago.

Alonso's comments a few weeks ago about Vettel being "....due for some bad luck" finally materialized. Not to sound anti-Vettel, but I think this was needed so the points among the top drivers can tighten up, which makes for a more exciting season versus someone running away with the title by August or September. I would like to see the outcome of the Driver's Title decided during the last race as it was in recent seasons. Keeps things exciting all year.

As for the drive of the day, that one goes to Paul di Resta who started 21st and finished 9th. The Force India squad has kept an impressive pace all season - they are no longer mid-field runners, but points and possible podium contenders.

What a crazy race. I'm so, so, soooo glad that the robot (Vettle) had a dnf. Plus all of the tires blowing out all over the place made things very interesting. This is shaping up to be a very good season.

I can't imagine how scary it must be to have a tire go at 180mph. No thanks!

I couldn't wait to see it on the DVR and read the highlights today, Should be a fun race to watch  Bring on a different tire manufacturer please, I avoid pirelli as they are inconsistent and have a steep performance drop off for street tires and I think formula one would do best to do the same as well.

The FIA will let all teams (except Mercedes) test with their race drivers during the young driver test at Silverstone:

As suggested here yesterday the FIA has moved quickly to allow race drivers to participate in what was originally scheduled to be the Young Driver test at Silverstone – but only “provided it is cle…

Actually a pretty good solution to this whole shitshow by the FIA. I'm curious to see if they can determine the cause of these failures too.

I think you have to give strong consideration to Hamilton or Massa on that one considering what they had to come back from.

good race. would of been cool to see what Webber could do if he had a few more laps left.

He probably would've passed Nico if he had at least 2 or 3 more laps.

Shame what's happened to Kimi since he had such a strong start to the season. He may yet consider the move to Red Bull but I doubt they'd want another rivalry like a Senna/Prost on their hands. They probably want a good blocker for Vettel to continue doing what he does best...Lead from the front

Soooo, can Pirelli really be blamed for Silverstone if:

There were a few nasty curbs (Chapel and Aintree), the teams were running the pressures outside of the acceptable window, were running camber outside of the acceptable window, and continuing with the practice of running the rear tires on the opposite side of the car for which they are designed?

Remember Spa 2011 when certain teams were blistering tires because they were running way more negative camber then what is considered acceptable?

I'm not saying the FIA should physically limit the teams to the setup guidelines, but it should then be the teams fault if the tires fail after being used outside their "safe window."
