Not knowing is not an excuse. Its like saying that you didnt know what the speed limit was when you get pulled over for speeding.

I am sorry, I disagree. This is not a law it is a store policy which is a part of the American psyche. Craftsman = quality that is so high they will replace it as long as you bring them a part of the tool that is recognisable as a Craftsman.
I still say Jordan will be able to get them to exchange it all he needs to do is go to the store and ask.
I looked it over, and aside from the fill screw I see nothing else one could bleed it with. There is a grease fitting as well, but thats not usable to bleed. Its also at the base of the piston.

Warning!!! - New Sears return policy
Hey all,,,
Dont post over here much (well at all,,, well,,, ever)... I thought this was serious enough to warrant a warning post.
After being a life long customer of Sears / Craftsman products I got a rude awaking today and will be dumping them from places I buy from.
They now CHARGE you 15% "Restocking Fee" to return something, even if its defective.
I'll 'splain...
I bought a Craftsman 8" bench grinder the other day.
Took it home, out of the box.
Made in China,,, felt,,, hokey from the start, but I proceded.
Assembled the whole F&^%&^ thing.
Plugged it in and one side was wobbling like Clark Griswald's car after he jumped the canyon.
So I re-box this whole thing up, go all the way back to Sears,,, ask for an exchange,,, which they give me.
Go all the way back home,,, this time before I even assemble all the hokey guards and stuff I plug it in to make sure its running true...
This one vibrates like a cheap motel bed.
Vibrated a wrench off a 2" thick butcher block type workbench.
So I box that POS back up and go back to Sears,,, tell the guy ok, this one is a POS too,,, I'd like my money back and I'll find one elsewhere.
He then tells me they will be charging me a 15% restocking fee,,, on this,,, a defective item.
I said,,, well its defective
He said, well you didnt get the extended warranty.
I said its less than 24 hours old and I just took it out of the box.
He said well you opened the box and you turned it on, so we have to charge the restocking fee.
I said,,, how the hell else is anyone supposed to see its defectve, other than open the box and turn it on.
He says, well thats why you should get the extended warranty.
I said its broken,,, why would you re-stock it,,, you cant sell it,,, its a POS.
After this ask for the dept manager,,, same "whos on first" run around, apperently this is the new corporate policy.
I then ask for the store manager. Some 30 year old guy,,, brainwashed,,, tells me thats how SEARS / KMart is returning to profitability. Its new policy since the Kmart take over.
I tell him I am a 30 year customer,,, and in the past 15 years I "averaged" between $1000 and $2000 a YEAR in their stupid tool dept. I AM their target market.
He said you didnt buy that here, that was Sears / Roebuck. This is Sears Holding Co (we were standing in the same store I have been buying tools in for 30 years)... I wanted to drop his ass at that point...
I told him I have some Craftsman tools that are 30 years old, my oldest Craftsman grinder runs as smooth as glass and its 25 years old.
I am a faithful customer.
He whines that is the new policy,,, not budging.
I continue to wind this jackoff up for another 15 minutes until he is getting really agitated,,, but cant tell me to go F*&^ myself,,, and then I take the 15% restocking hit and leave.
Its not the money,, it was like less than $10.
Its the principal that you now cannot buy ANYTHING at SEARS,,, and return it if you are dissatisfied with it, or even if its broken or defective without them charging you 15%.
This is store wide apparently, not just tools.
Brought in since they were bought by KMart.
Thank god it was a $60 grinder, not a washer and dryer or a $6000 plasma screen
Just throwing out this warning.
Stay away from Sears on anything that comes in a box. If you want to RETURN it,,, for any reason, apparently you will be paying 15% restocking fee.
Hope this helps someone.
Cheers

This is becoming SOP for most retail chains now. The rash of fraudulent returns and other cheapasses and scammers is really hurting the bottom lines of "brick & mortar" companies who are already feeling the pressure from online shops.
Basically, thank the people that return past date merchandise or buy new and swap out the old to return it as "defective", thank the people shoplifting and returning it. Retail stores almost have to do this these days to stem all the scam activities.
