yeah, that's fucked up, you should be able to get another one.
who acctually keeps receipts for that long of time, especially since you moved.
I'd try another sears or something, or then take it up with the head people.
when you called the sears back in oregon, did you ask about getting it replaced, or did they mention anything like they would replace it for you, cuz if they did then you might be able to have the manager in oregon talk to the people in texas and work it out for you.
Jordan, I had much the same issue with the SAME Sears store!
They CAN look it up. They are just being lazy. Go directly to the store manager.
What I did this last time around was to offer to purchase an extended warranty...2 additional years cost me $22 or something on my DeWalt screwgun.
They gave me a full refund of my original purchase, sold me a new gun at the same price, then sold me a warranty. Total of 6 years warranty for $44, including the manufacturers.
Good luck. I am going to Corvallis next week, I could stop by the Albany store and have a "chat" with them....

They should be able to look it up for you. Bullshit that they won't. Also, your Credit Union should be able to pull a statement for you - have you called them yet? Don;t you have a paper statement from them from last year?
Having worked at Sears, we could not easily pull records on cash purchases. The main customer service system had capability of researching transactions up to 2-3 years old, only if the item was purchased on credit/debit/check which required entry of the customer's address.
Sear's old return policy *was* within a "reasonable amount of time". Like many other retailers, they have now switched to a 90day (as I recall). Under their old return policy you could've returned the jack by having a discussion with a CSM or store manager.
If it was on debit, pull the statement and bring it in. You'll have a bit more leverage in forcing them to research the transaction further. You might also have luck calling the 1800 number for Sears. As a sales associate I often used the customer service hotline for information.
I would just aim for a straight up exchange... Still a tough situation, I was never fond of purchase\warranty issues.
Harbor frieght still has the 3000lb aluminum racing jack for $69, they sell a two year warranty for $20.
I have that jack, I paid like $80 or 90 for it on sale last summer. It's a great jack. It won't fit under my front lip/front subframe, but it fits under the frame rails on the side without driving onto anything. And my car is lower than 95% on this forum.
if you paid for it with a cc, doesnt have to be the sears one, then they can look it up. period. end of discussion. i just did this last week.
As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Yeah, I have a Harbor Freight on the opposite end of town here, I've looked at that jack there. The guy at Sears told me that the one they sell at Harbor Freight is damn near the exact same jack.
