I stumbled across this when I was helping my buddy pick out an E30.

E30's I would have paid 2-2.5k a couple of years ago are going for 4-5k today.

Makes me happy to have one, but shit, I need another one bad.

out of curiosity, (unless you deliver mail) why would you want rhd? novelty? to be different perhaps?

at least for me, it would be kind of a negative.

I refuse to sell any of my cars to a kid, teenager. only selling to 30+ plus year olds that want a well sorted and taken care of example.

Over here in Europe tourings have little to no value. Swapped car will also always be less valuable than all original one.

The kids are what are driving up the price. Simple supply and demand. The E30 is a nice, reasonably priced (at least right now), rwd, fun to drive car. The demand will drop once the prices escalate beyond some point. What that price is becomes anyone's guess. People aren't buying the E30 and storing them in a garage with the idea that it will be a money maker.

Kids wrecking them maybe, though I think the more significant driving force has been SpecE30 and the part-out market that primarily exists - and has been thriving - as a result of it.

The cost of used cars in general (at least in the US) has increased in the past couple of years. What 5th Gear says about the price of an E30 in the UK is going to have very little impact on E30 prices in the US.

I don't think you'll ever see standard E30s going for pristine M3 prices...
