Do you go to car meets? If no, why not?
Are you a "car meet" guy?

This. I actually try and avoid as much car talking IRL as possible. I like driving my car, not so much talking about it.Originally posted by TSI♫ Rust flecks are falling on my head...♫OEM+Comment

I used to go to them all the time...then I got a wife and 2 kids...I rarely go now although I plan to go to all of the ones by me, it just doesn't happen.

i'm lucky in that she will listen and engage in conversation about it and wants to learn. i'm a fortunate guy.. but i still get self-conscious that i'm boring her, so i clam up.
i think i don't like car meets (as opposed to sanctioned shows) because most attendees are total dumbasses and really aren't the crowd i want to hang with.Comment

Meets? Only if they're r3v or BMWCCA sanctioned. Shows, on the other hand, yes. But, only if I have friends going or if they're themed to my liking.

I organize meets and attend other meets.
Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're lame...
I am surprised that there aren't more E30 meets in the tri-state however.- Frank

OP - are you talking about car meets or car shows?
Years back there was a contigent of E30 owners from the bay area (BayE30.net anyone?) and they gathered occassionally for a meet just to check out other E30s or to organize a caravan drive to some coastal location. I did a few drives with this group back in the day (Dave Adams, Fred Kim, Chris Lindquist & Co.).....usually around a dozen or so turned out. Good times.
As for car shows....I've been to a few as well, not as fun as going for a drive :)

At least around here. I love out of state events as its like a mini vacation to go hang with friends and meet new people.Comment

Used to go to the general car meets, but the ricer crowd has gotten to the point where there are a couple cop cars waiting around for someone to do something stupid every night.
The local bmw crowd has since started going to a different spot thats mostly classic cars and hotrods. Much more mature setting aside from the odd rusted golf or fart can civic.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment
