I've always heard m30 is bulletproof. It seems that the m20b27 with a five speed doesn't quit either.

The m10 is solid, but since its a 4 cylinder it doesn't count. The m20 breaks when the belt does, I agree, the m30 wins hands down, just keep fresh oil in it and you'll run it 400k miles. It's basically the m10 plus another half.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.Comment

Why does the M10 not count? And IMO it's more stout than the M30.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

The only 600hp+ "M70" was actually the S70/2 from the McLaren F1. The M70 itself was a bit of a pig.

I vote M10 as well. Especially since the M30 and arguably the best formula 1 engine of all time was based on it.Comment

M10 has 1/3 less shit to go wrong than the M30 therefore wins.

They're finicky if you don't take care of them.
Every engine is bulletproof if you take good care of it. The real exceptional ones are the engines that can take the beating, keep going, and still be neglected.
M30 and M20, all the way.Comment
