I thought the wiper linkage was easy. I did it through the cowl opening, it took maybe half an hour once I had the intake manifold removed. I replaced the blower motor and fixed the flaps on the HVAC unit while I was in there. the linkage wasn't anywhere near as difficult as I thought it would be. I was like, that's it?Comment

The fact that the rear valences on late models are actually part of the whole tail panel and requires cutting and welding to replace.Comment

One job I really hated recently was the inner ball joint nuts for the E30. Not a lot of room to move around in there and all I could really use was a regular old wrench.
Overall, to a person who's first real serious wrenching experience has been on an E30, I don't have a lot of complaints so far.Estoguy

I'm rummaging through 18 continuous years of owning at least 1 e30 and not much makes me frown.
Due to frequency I'd agree that the oil filter is in a dumb ass place. I thought of getting a welding glove or installing a remote filter kit but not much room for it. Waiting for the manifold to cool is a buzzkill.
Then there's the corroded subframe bushings. 2 days and a lot of foul language worth. High on my list
Worst of all is the Bowden cables for the hvac slidersSeat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

My only bitch is the lack of hot dip galvanizing on the body, and general lack of rust protection/ prevention.
Having worked on 2 Volvo P80 chassis (850 Turbo, and a V70 T5) the E30 is simple. As dirt simple as simple can get. When you have to support the engine, and remove the subframe to replace a steering rack you can bitch.1990 BMW 325is 5spd Black

You have to remove the fuel injection harness to replace the coolant temp sensor. Why? They could have just angled it slightly different. 5 minute job turns into 45 minute job. It takes me forever to remove those stupid fuel injector clips. I hate the fuck out of them.AWD > RWDComment

Me and Agent were eating some wings last night and decided this thread needs to be moved to r3v Facebook. Because that's where most of the whiny 9th graders already are. Omg. You dont have to remove any clips! Just pull up on the harness. It pops right off, takes 30 seconds. Thats how it was designed, you're not supposed to pry on the clips. :pComment
