No. Alpina has always allowed the option of using their cloth or factory out fitting. Even going back to the E30's. That's why you'll see some with stock, leather sport seats vs. the Recaro's.

Eh, I just don't buy all of the hype over E30 M3s, especially at their current prices - for the money there are many other cars I'd rather have. I'd much rather have a faster, lighter AWD rally car than an M3 which is heavier and slower than my crappy E30. I've never had an AWD car, and that Escort would be a good place to start with AWD. I also find a regular 325/318is with upgraded wheels better looking than an E30 M3
Adding yet another wing to that car though, sounds ricey.

BUT, I would love to own an e30 m3 one day... just because.... m3. It's a racecar for the road.Simon

Not to mention,,, ~15,000-ish people paid exactly that for them between 1987 and 1991...
The fact that almost 30 years later they are selling for sticker isn't that big a deal (its annoying to us owners who still would want more of them, but no not that big a deal or even surprising) for a car as iconic as the E30M3.
The E30M3 was never about "fast"
Anyone who comparing the E30M3's "fast" or lack thereof to anything between a modded regular E30 and a new minivan just doesn't get the car at all and what it is / was.
Keep moving, its not the car for you...Jimmy P.

For those of you that didn't see it, the original designer of the Ford Cosworth, Frank Stephenson (Ferrari F430, new Mini, McLaren P1, etc., etc., etc.) stopped by the Wheeler Dealers garage. He told Ant (Edd China's replacement) that the original Cosworth design had 3 wings. He also brought a scale model of the car with 3 wings. Stephenson said the bean counters removed the 3rd wing from the final production design. Not to my taste, but the 3rd wing is true to the original design.
