My 11/89 build is the same way. Sealed beams + MT2 wheel.
Not sure if the wheel is stock or someone swapped at some point - was it standard for an iS or would it show up on a vin decoder?

from dealer you could order any individual option from the is package on any i car. it won't show up on a vin decoder but could have been present from new.

Definitely added the Mtech2 after the fact

I know, car was clearly never airbag equipped. Feels like in 20+ years I can count on one hand the number i've seen with these overlapping equipment options, must have been a very short period of production, at least for the NA market.

Kinda rare to see a '90 with the sealed beam headlights but not yet with the air bag, build date 1989-08-02. I still wonder why BMW cut the projectors for the 1990 model year.
