Not sure if this is the place to post, but my cabrio just went live on Cars & Bids last night:
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/KDZ...5i-convertible
Very sad to see it go - I spent so many years working on building the car exactly how I'd want it only to have to move out of the country and leave it behind as soon as it was "finished"

Yeah, i guess i need to remind myself that although my car may have been $800, that was back in 2018 and was an uncommonly good deal at the time. I'd really like another coupe, but damn, I just can't justify the cost to have 2 fewer doors.

Yeah it's more than I would want to pay, but it's not 2015 anymore, there are no good enthusiast cars that are not overpriced these days. As always, mechanically sound seems overrated, because I don't know who in this day and age would rather have a perfect drivetrain in a body that needs work and paint than a blown up engine in a body that looks excellent.Leave a comment:

I dont think the price was that far out of line... probably more of a 8-10k car, but throw it on BaT and weird things happen. Good sale and most of the 'issues' can be corrected fairly easily other than paint
A clean 318IS sells for a lot more

That's a joke right? There's no way a slick top makes up for an otherwise cosmetic basket case. Seems like it was mechanically sound though.Leave a comment:

I saw this car and wondered why it had such a high sale price in its pretty poor overall condition, needs paint, has ugly wheels, stupid ass screw on spoiler, body damage on the front end, shredded headliner, etc. I had missed that it was a slicktop.Leave a comment:
