Looks as if it's Tony's old car that was listed for $8500 three years ago and sold on ebay for $7600.

It's a cali car and considering the Mecum auction and transportation fees, the new seller appears to have taken a loss.

The car isn't perfect and looked much better on TV.

Car was previously sold in stock form in 2009. Asking was $3995.

Even if you are a fan of Baur's that's probably the wrong forum to sell a 24v swapped one. Those buyers are not really a good target for that kind of car. Though I am willing to guess it was either a dealer or someone trying to just unload it.

What's up with the questionable E30 M3s on BaT lately? First the white one with the question on rust, and now the red one with a different VIN stamped into the cowl than the rest of the body. Hrmmm.

Yea thats pretty bizarre

Makes me glad that I only have 3 VIN tags on my car. The cowl, the dash and the door jamb haha no VIN stickers anywhere

An auction on BaT is not the place for silly mistakes. The dude can be disorganized and/or lazy elsewhere... but not in front of the BaT peanut gallery (present company not included, of course).

IMO that mistake will cause a dark cloud to hang over that car for a looong time.
