No idea what the Frank Thomas Leaf reference was but these cars selling for over 10, or 20 will only help those of us who already have clean cars.
Another 325 was added and this one has an auto and is a little modified so maybe between the 318is that ends today and that one we'll get a better idea of where the market is.Simon

Not sure your age, but may have been before your time:
The baseball card bubble of the late 80's was crazy. At the time, my pops owned a card shop in one of the malls around here and we had several MJ Fleer RC's pass through and a bunch of other high dollar cards as well. These were the cards that were supposed to only gain in value and help put us all through collage..etc. Needless to say, it was only a few years ago I was able to unload most of my collection by "donating" it to a church auction.
Though, I did hang on to all my 60's Topps cards and the few Graded cards that still have some sort of value.

Cars have infinitely more intrinsic value than baseball cards. It would take a huge societal shift for that to change.

Bringing you guys back to reality, that nice white '91 318is just sold for $8900. That's pretty good on its own, but keep in mind it sold for $8000 last year, then bits of the chain ramps were found in the sump, so the sale was rescinded, and another $9000 of work went into the engine and other parts before this latest sale. Seller was hosed on this.
