the m/s50/2 are my choice
the info on the swap is readily available, the parts are easily sourced for relatively cheap. Lots of knowledge. Smooth running engine, decent HP, decent mpg, good reliability, reasonable cost. Steel block is slightly more reliable for a DIYer to handle as well.
as m54 prices come down they may edge out the 50/2 series but the aluminum block would make me nervous as a DIYer.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
