      Day 11:

Robby and I, with the help of Alex, got the manual tranny in the car. The bottom bolts are in, I just have to do the 2 top ones and the starter tomorrow.

Before we installed the tranny, we replaced the rear main seal & the gasket around the metal assembly, the pilot bearing, installed the lightened flywheel, installed the clutch disc and pressure plate, installed the new clutch slave cylinder, and the tranny crossmember.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

So what else is left now? Brake calipers, pedals, driveshaft, etc?

What about installing the clutch master cyclinder and 5 spd pedal assembly? I'm interested in seeing that go in as i am working on that when i swap in my s52.

I think I am going to do that tomorrow, I will keep you updated.

                  Day 12:

Not much done today. I torqued the bolts down on the tranny, and installed the starter. Steph helped me do a serious cleaning in the garage, its much more organized and its just not pure chaos out there anymore.

I tried to piece together the front calipers with my rebuild kits, but its next to impossible for me to get the pistons on with the new dust covers. I gave up after frustrating work. I am not sure what I will do to proceed.

Welcome to the club. I decided to get another caliper from some 'u pull it' junkyard for $5.

This is all very impressive work! I just read the entire thread. I wish I had a bunch of friends to help me out. And a garage for that matter.

Also, I think you've convinced me to get rear subframe bushings, regardless of the huge amount of work involved. I know my man John will help me out when the time comes.

                        Day 13:

Didn't do crap on the car today. All I did was return some tools and bought a few that I needed.

After all those straight days of work on the tranny I took the weekend easy. Back to work tomorrow though!

yea man. Id be nice if we were a bit closer, but you can come down here whenever. I have TONS of space. A fair amount of tools too. We'll have to meet up when you're ready to do suspension.

It's almost done guys... I got the shift linkage and driveshaft in last night, and the pedals in this morning. I put the front calipers on and painted the rears. I just have to put a bunch of stuff back togther... should be driving it this afternoon.
