making progress with the custom intake I needed to find an alternative to using the stock lower intake manifold. The casting is too hard to weld and its just garbage so I ordered this to build off of. With this I will be able to mount my fuel rail easier.

Very interested in how the manifold goes, as I'll need one for mine once turbo.
Though it seems as if it'd be easier to find something similar like YB cosworth and adapt an intake from that.

Just buy the casting from Dbilas. In Oz you could get from RHD. Personally I would go through RHD even in the US.

Chuggz, you might want to look into Jenvey turbo plenums: http://www.jenvey.co.uk/products/turbo-plenum

So you're not selling it now? I like your valve cover, I want to make mine somewhat nice but removing it involves removing the turbo so it's a pain.

Where have you put the oil feed and drain for the turbo?

Now that the intake side is done I managed to correct some issues with my previous downpipe setup.

Bought some U bends and put together a much better design with a V band clamp using some of my old exhaust. Also added a flex pipe just in case. Tacked it all up with my shitty HF welder. Here are some pics.
