I'm using the battery to hide what's left of the rusty battery tray.

So those exhaust donuts I bought are already cracking and stuff, pretty lame! I'll get a pic later.

Got all my components for the speaker upgrade!

From e34. I'll be swapping the silk dome tweeters into the front and the e30 premium tweeters into the rear.

I got one from the junk yard, so now I have two. These are supposed to be better than the regular e34 right?

The fronts are regular e30 speakers. I keep reading that "all e30s are wired for tweeters" but I took the door apart and looked behind then kick panel and there are no tweeter wires.

Is it fine to mount the crossover (inductor) close to the magnet?

              HAHAHA WELL SHIT.

I was trying to swap the tweeter out and fucked it all up. At least this was the one damaged in shipping.

Why not mount the speakers this way?

Holy wow. Premium speakers sound about 382% better than stock. Such a worthwhile upgrade!

I have them aiming forward because I don't have front tweeters. Separation is really good sitting in the rear, sitting in front is still good but obviously biased right. Can't wait to get tweeters for the front!

And used #8x2" sheet metal screws to mount them to the same holes the old ones used. Cranked em down just enough to suck down into the carpet.

So here's more speaker trouble. I've popped out one of the tweeters. Chip the glue out.

Glue the new one in with a few dabs of super glue. I hear it's easier to pop out when you want to upgrade or change a blown one.

Put the grill back on. The broken corner was epoxied back on and I'll smooth it out later.

I have a silk dome on the left and a Mylar on the right, the Mylar is way brighter and crisper, but I like the silk dome better. Neither have foam in front.
