Can we be friends? We literally have twin Convertibles.

I just picked up this 1992 Blue Sport Interior on Alpine 325i Convertible with 109,000 miles except mine has an Automatic transmission which is what I was looking for (commuter/cruiser).

Literally twins. Power Top works great!!

I decided to not do ITB’s and going with Blunttech/Classic Daily turbo kit with spec stage 2 clutch.

      So just a thought...

If I’m replacing some seals on the transmission, shift linkage, now the clutch, and replacing front subframe and all the front suspension.

Should I just drop motor and transmission? These things easier with the motor and trans out of the car? Or should I just keep the motor in the car and remove the trans? I have no “real” lift available to me so this is all gonna be in the garage on jack stands.

Or maybe just get an engine hoist with load lever and title the front of the motor up a little while still fully connected?

It's probably easier to do as one piece. Or drop it on a dolly and lift the car off the subframe.

With everything I’m doing, like the full suspension, subframes, and clutch. You’d drop the package: motor and tranny? Seems like I’m gonna a have pretty much everything disconnected anyways. But didn’t know if I should just keep the motor in.

Is there a way I can tell (without removing trans) if I have a single mass or dual mass flywheel? My guess, and research says, I have single mass but just wondering if I could confirm.

AFAIK all M20B25s have the single mass. But no, I don't think you can tell from the outside.

Finally...it’s out. Time to get this thing stripped, cleaned up and ready for boost. All the seals with the exception of the head gasket is being replaced.

Motor was stripped and repainted. Rear main and a bunch of brand new stuff.

trans is damn near new. All new seals, coat of paint, and all new mounts etc.

Car comes back tomorrow. Have nearly all the turbo stuff.
