    I had to turn the vanos sprocket a little to get it to mesh, then use the tool to turn the exhaust cam and pull it into position. If you kept everything in time you should be good.

      What's the driving motivation for using RTV instead of a gasket on the rear main seal? Have you had good luck with RTV not leaking for a longer duration?

          Rear main has the metal gasket, I'm running no oil pan gasket - just RTV. I've had good results with this in the past.
