Worked my way around the panel with a body saw to get a tight fit. Luckily this patch panel has a nice lip on the outside of the pressing and it fit very well.

I love that colour. Can't wait to see the whole car sprayed and together!

Oh yeah we are stoked to see it come together, especially from what used to be an old parts car sitting in a field! I've wanted to do a Sepang bronze car since I saw it on a new E60 M5 all those years ago.

I know, the pressure is on big time!

For now it will be 14" basketweaves but I think some maxlite euroweaves would look really rad. I'm trying to use restraint and put together a mostly stock car to cruise around, maybe some front drop hats but I don't even want to lower this car much if at all. I have so much mechanical work ahead of me I'll be busy for a while haha!

I think for this color it needs a very subtle wheel choice, something OE or resembling OE. If it was lowered then something over the top like a 3 piece polished wheel. Not gonna go there though, too much of a headache to drive around low with expensive wheels.

You are doing a killer job cruising through this body/paint work. Life is short, getting it done to a respectable level that suits your preferences and enjoying the car is the name of the game

Thank you and I agree, trying to not get into any more forever projects. My goal has been to knock out a little each night so I can get the tub to paint by Halloween. It worked out with the painter because he was bored and the removables didn't need any repair so he was happy to take them separately and work on them. This car had one foot in the grave so Halloween will be a fitting date to have it resurrected and painted!

Only a little free time this weekend to devote to the project. Got the welds dressed on almost the entire floor pan section.

What about some bottlecaps? I've seen aftermarket versions at 15" or 16" that look pretty sweet!

I've never been a big bottlecap fan however there was an older compomotive wheel that looked like a big bottlecap that I thought was cool. Is anyone doing larger bottlecaps?

                              RML is making 16" ones.

We’ve wanted to make this wheel forever, but have never been 100% confident there’s sufficient demand from the E30 BMW market. We’re still not, to be honest, but we’re only going to make 300 wheels, so the risk isn’t huge. The Bottlecap is probably the most well-known E30 OEM wheel design, but it was only available in

Those are very cool! I take back what I said haha

I think 16s on E30s are perfect but tire sizes are getting harder to find and more expensive.
