(This is all from the 21st)

    Driving to the car I saw a roofrack'd E39 M5, I'd rock it.

I picked up some metal 90 degree fittings at an auto parts store since I couldn't find any DSM MC fittings.

Fit pretty well, I'm a little worried about brake fluid seeping through the threads but it's not like they'll be seeing any significant pressure, so it'll probably be fine.

    With the 2002 reservoir attached.

Since I lost like 3 of those damn intake manifold flange nuts (M7x1.00mm if anyone's wondering) I got some replacements, so the IM is down tight now.

Got some throttle body bolts since that's what I was missing last time. The old throttle cable was a bitch to get out of the firewall, had to use vice grips from the passenger compartment side, then a sledge and pound down on it from the engine bay. E34 throttle cable was very easy to get in by comparison, now I'm stuck trying to figure out the cruise control.

Intake boot and MAF are on. Don't worry I've got a ricer cone filter to fit on it.

    Cool shot

The GF was nice enough to write down the X20 -> C101 adapter while I was typing it out and verifying it :)

Now here's the final shitty picture with the adapter installed. I'm going to make sure everything's right on the adapter before I make it look pretty and seal it up.

Now fast forward to today--fixed a ground connection, wired another power connection and I think we're in business. I got a CEL when I turned the key, believe I got a fuel pump relay click and when I went to test the starter I got a solenoid click but it immediately gave up and refused to click again. Will be back tomorrow with some jumper cables.

(warning: disappointment and abrupt video end)

Starter's dead, pulled it today and will have an autozone piece of shit to put back in tomorrow. I haven't really taken many pics because it's just been troubleshooting at this point. Will post a(n interesting) video when I get it running.

Got a new starter today, old starter was toast (drew like 2 amps on the test bench).

Cranked over a lot better, but it still wasn't starting. I was getting spark, and it looked like I was getting fuel:

But still nada. Even though I had spent an hour and a half making sure I got the fuel lines right, they weren't.

          ...It's alive!

          Fuck yeah!

While it looks like a bunch of weird German stuff to me....I can see why you love the car. It's awesome to see so much hard work and determination slowly turning this car into a masterpiece.

Keep it up d00d, your dedication to this thing inspired me to join teh forums here and learn me a bit about German engineering.

Tell me about it. Took long enough eh? I'm looking into chips for the NV motor and it really doesn't look like there's much info out there. Also not sure how much the M20 exhaust is going to choke up the M50, but I don't have much else of a choice right now, so that's probably the route I'll go.

Car should be driving around by Friday. Of course, if the bleed screw fitting on the 4 month old Kragen rebuilt caliper didn't break off due to a crack (was probably dropped) it would have been driving on Monday. And if Kragen had my order of a replacement caliper on Monday like they promised, it would have been running on Monday. Bitter? Yeah, a little.
