My bodyshop guy got in contact with me the other day to let me know he started on the car and asked for a few more parts. The hood was the first order of business as it had numerous dents from closing it wrong. We decided on doing the engine bay in low gloss black as it would hide dirt and grime. It would also allow me to alter the engine bay in the future and repaint it myself without it needing sprayed sterling silver at the painter.

    Area behind fuse box done.

    Battery box area is done.

The body shop got a serious amount of work done this week. Pretty much all the panels are ready to be primed with the exception of the roof and rear valence. Just brought him a new rear body panel tonight so hopefully they can start laying down some primer this weekend or early next week.

      New rear panel.

Rusty battery tray and the valence was pretty bent up.

              Some new small updates.

Nasty Valence cut out and new battery tray area welded in. The area near the exhaust cut out will be removed as well.

              Hand rolled fenders.

                Uh oh...

Some extra tweaking will be required in the front end department. Apparently my car was hit on the left a long time ago and it pushed the front end over to the right about 15mm. This translates into the hood not fitting. At all. More updates soon.

any updates on the style 144 setup? i'm also interested in finding/ using newer e60/ e92 wheels on my 91 e30 vert. 1 question for you, i have the 4x100 to 5x120 adapters that "rob" makes and sells on the forum, do you think they would mount up and be flush like yours in the pic? i think the adapters are 20mm thick?... i'm ok with a little poke not mexipoke tho... any suggestions would be great!

                      thanks,

They originally were going to work with the 215/40/17's I had BUT I had to roll the hell out of the rear fenders to do so. I didn't want to compromise the factory undercoat and all that in the fender lip so I put the style 144's up for sale. Well when I finally sold them and went to gather them to box and ship I found two were missing. They just vanished. I refunded the kind and understanding buyer and just figured some kids in the neighborhood stole them to brag to their freinds or something. Never had problem with theft ever until then.

The et20 E60 wheels fit perfectly flush to the rear fender lips with the 318ti stuff in the rear. I'm not sure where you would end up with the factory e30 4 lug stuff, spacers, then et 20 wheels. I used to run 16x7.5 et35 ATS's with 20mm spacers and they were about 5-10mm from the fender lip in the rear.

Yes AKG. I love their stuff. I'm hoping to get the DTM shifter before the special ends. We'll see.
