I used the E30 inner and outer tie rods. I just replaced them like 2 years ago, and they're all still in perfect condition, so I just reused them.

Made another junkyard score today, got the E36 steering rack hose/hardline that goes from the rack to the pump for $6, so I don't have to bend my stock E30 one, or spend a bunch of money on a new E36 one.
When I first discovered the car out there last week, it had a Vanos M50 in it, and today, it was already gone. But it did still have the PS hardline and hose I needed, so I was pretty stoked.Last edited by Jand3rson; 03-18-2011, 05:47 PM.

Is this thing going to be ready by the picnic? If so, you're welcome to crash here on the way there.

Wow Josh!! This is a GREAT build!! I just got done reading the whole thread and I am more than impressed with your work and admiration that you have taken into effect to complete such a project! I am currently working on my own '89 325i for my first real project as a newly acquainted BMW enthusiast at the age of 19, and your build will be inspiring several of my previous and newly formed ideas that i have picked up on while reading this. Keep up the excellent work!! Can't wait to see it finished! Hope everything goes well from here on! Subscribed!:up:

i always secretly wished i could weigh all the grime and crap that came off my car..
